Burn



Random Sights...

I love taking pictures, but it's not practical to take my good camera everywhere I go. Instead, I've gotten in the habit of carrying a pocket-size Nikon Coolpix S220. It doesn't offer the best quality controls, but it's convenient and easy to use.

And besides, the simplicity of an improvised snapshot sometimes tells a more compelling story than a carefully planned photograph.

This picture shows a burned over hillside on the Spokane Indian Reservation, just above Little Falls. A wildfire swept the area a few weeks ago and left the blackened remains of charcoal-sagebrush. At the bottom of the hill, a building was left in ruin.
