Devil's Club

As Rhonda and I drove back down the mountain, she told me stop to photograph a red flower she saw near the ditch. Upon closer examination, we found that the flowers were actually the red fruit of devil's club. I had always wanted to see this plant, so our unexpected stop became a great opportunity.

  1. What an incredible blossom. I am not at all familiar with this plant, but it sounds like one I would like to get to know better.

  2. I'm not sure what the blossoms look like. The red portion of the plant is actually the fruit formed into a cluster of red berries. I would also like to get to know this plant better, but be careful. The stems of the plant are covered with some pretty gnarly thorns, hence the name: Devil's Club.
