Prom Date

A young man - the son of family friends - came to our house today and asked my daughter to the prom. He was so nervous, but he was gracious and polite. He even brought a bouquet of flowers. She said yes. 

I was sitting on the couch, but I heard everything. It was so sweet. I found myself getting misty. I'm officially old - my baby is going to the prom. 

Un joven - el hijo de amigos de nuestra familia - llegó a la casa hoy y le pidió a mi hija a que vaya al baile de graduación. Estaba tan nervioso, pero fue muy amable y cortés. También le dió un ramo de flores. Ella dijo sí.

Yo estaba sentado en el sofá, pero escuché todo. Fue tan dulce. Me sentí muy sentimental, y lloré un poco. Oficialmente soy viejo. Mi bebé se va al baile de graduación. 

Beauty and the Beast

My children are performing Disney's Beauty and the Beast through CYT Spokane at the Bing Crosby Theater. As always, the talent is amazing. This is Dakota's last CYT performance.

Yesterday afternoon, I got to see my beautiful daughter perform in CYT Spokane's Willy Wonka. It was also great to see my niece and nephew perform in the show.

My Turn On Earth

My Turn On Earth was a phenomenal success! More than five hundred people packed the Bing Crosby Theater and enjoyed a wonderful show. More importantly, people were energized and inspired by the upbeat, positive message.

My Turn On Earth lit up on the marquee. 

My Turn On Earth

My Turn On Earth is an LDS musical written in 1977 by Carol Lynn Pearson and Lex de Azevedo. The plot is based on the LDS concept of the Plan of Salvation, and includes fictionalized scenes from the pre-mortal existence and the war in heaven. The main character is a young woman named Barbara who leaves the pre-existence and comes to Earth in search of life's treasure. Along the way, she learns essential Gospel lessons, including the value of free agency, repentance, and the Golden Rule. 

My son Edward Dakota will be directing and performing My Turn On Earth as a mission fundraiser. He obtained the rights from Deseret Book and made arrangements to rent the Bing Crosby Theater for a day. As a father, I am constantly amazed by his talent and confidence.  

The show will run one night only on July 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Bing Crosby Theater in Spokane, WA. Tickets can be pre-ordered by calling (509) 599-5572. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children. All tickets are $12 at the door.
