Somewhere a wildfire burns.
Yesterday afternoon, the August sun cast an orange haze upon the landscape. I first noticed a subtle discoloration of sidewalks, parking lots, and buildings. Then the sun resembled a glowing fire behind a veil of clouds. "This is strange," I thought to myself, but the faint smell of smoke made me understand the reason for the fiery colors of the sky.
The evening sun created a beautiful pattern of lights and shadows on my front porch.
