Fireworks stand near Ford, Washington.

I took my kids to a fireworks stand near Ford, Washington on the Spokane Indian Reservation. We didn't buy anything spectacular; just a few sparklers and "flowers," but I got a rush of adrenaline buying something that's been outlawed in Spokane County for more than 10 years. The 4th of July has changed a lot since I was a kid. Everybody bought fireworks in those days, but not anymore. My kids have no idea what it was like.
