Angel

Angel 010, originally uploaded by sulustumoses.

This afternoon I attended an Angel training to learn how to be a better angel than I already am.

Actually, all joking aside, Angel is a system for delivering online instruction. My employer, the Institute for Extended Learning, is switching all online content from BlackBoard to Angel, which means I had to take a class in the new system. The class convened on the campus of Spokane Falls Community College, and so far I can honestly say Angel will make my life a lot easier as an intructor. The new system is very intuitive and user friendly.

As an aside, I got a great photograph of this flowering tree on the college campus. It sort of reminds me of an angelic presence on a beautiful spring day.

Hey!! Well, I have been visiting but not commenting. I so enjoyed the Ecuadorian posts. What wonderful, inspiring young people! How blessed you were to have this opportunity & how blessed they were to spend the time with you. I was so taken by the experience.

Just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts & on my heart. Take care dear one!!

Blessed be...

Is that a tulip tree?

Thanks Oklahoma.... I'm looking forward to seeing you in June. By the way, I will probably post more experiences from my Ecuador exchange.

'Chelle, I believe the tree is a magnolia, but I'm not sure. If you find out, let me know.

Chelle is correct. It is a tulip tree. I love magnolias a town near me, Durant OK has a magnolia festival each year. I think the weather is too harsh in WA for them to grow. Not sure though.

Blessed be...

Oklahoma, I'm not sure either way. Here's an article I found on tulip trees, and they don't seem to be the same as the one I photographed.

Tulip Tree

Then here's an article on magnolias, which in the photo section shows a magnolia in Boston that looks nearly identical to the tree I saw. Boston gets very cold as does Spokane.

Magnolia

Check them both out and give me your verdict.

Mom has a tulip tree in her backyard and it looks exactly like the picture.

Well 'Chelle, I don't know what to say. You're probably right... it just didn't look like the tulip tree from the article.

Did you read the article? Tell me what you think.

I did check out the article and I agree it does not look like the picture but, I looked up tulip tree under google images and found pictures that looked like your tree. Then I read that tulip trees are from the magnolia family so I didn't know what else to conclude. Could it be that we are all right.

You're probably right 'Chelle.
